In the early 1980's when Carson was designing
handbags, she started working with a triangular
shape bag. One day in 1983 one of her
triangular bags was sitting on her studio table,
and a friend walked in and said, "What is
that?...A backpack?, and the light bulb went on.
At a time when designer backpacks were just
coming into their own, Carson designed the
ultimate bag in form and function.
She
started marketing the Carogi Bag at Arts & Craft
shows, and in 1987 at an event in Arizona,
Carson met Joan Edelmann. Being instantly
united in vision, a collaboration was formed to
bring the Carogi Bag to a new level. Over
the many years together, they have combined
their artistry in many aspects of the bag such
as: Hand painting, collage work, the
writing and illustrating of the instruction
card, and the purchasing of many fabrics and
leathers both domestic and imported.
We change our fabrics and designs frequently to
keep the Carogi Bag fresh and new. We
strive to provide a wide variety of styles and
colors to create a palette that best suits the
needs of our customers.
Please see our schedule of events for the coming
year. We'd love to hear from you with any
questions or comments about our bags.
